March Community Outreach

As always, Lincoln City Gifts takes great pride in our community involvement. Here are some of the things we took part in this March:

North Lincoln Fire & Rescue Annual Awards Banquet

We’re always honored to support our local fire department. So we joined many of our fellow Lincoln City businesses to support North Lincoln Fire & Rescue’s annual banquet.

On Saturday, March 23 the North Lincoln Fire & Rescue held their annual awards banquet. It’s a way for the department to say thanks to their crews for their dedication and hard work over the previous year.

Here are the results:

First, Chief Dahlman recognized seven individuals for their years of service to the District:
  • Brandon Bowers - 5 years of service
  • Stephanie White- 5 years of service
  • Josh Roberts - 5 years of service
  • Matt Diaz - 10 years of service
  • Eric Maestas - 10 years of service
  • Al Longworth - 15 years of service
  • Pauline Morrison - 20 years of service
Chief Dahlman then swore in two volunteers who have been with the District for a year and have completed their Firefighter I sign offs:
  • Amanda Hankins
  • Alex Salicrup
Lastly, Chief Dahlman recognized the following individuals for their dedication over the last year to improve the District:
  • EMT of the Year - Simeon Wakefield
  • Rookie of the Year - Amanda Hankins
  • Firefighter of the Year- Josh Roberts
  • Fire Officer of the Year- Cody Heidt
  • Chief's Award - Doug Strange
The following members were awarded the Excellence in Service Award for their participation in a water rescue on December 23, 2023, in the Siletz Bay:
  • Shane Chaffer
  • Riley Schroeder
  • Tyler Cunningham
  • Amanda Hankins
  • Hunter Pariani
  • Will Heredia
  • Bob Schroeder
  • Andrew Edwards

Diaper Drive (March 23-30)

We are a proud supporter of the Kiwanis Diaper Drive, which was planned and hosted by Kennedy Stentz. For three days in March, they did their part to help the local kiddos with a Diaper Drive table at Safeway.

Without clean diapers:
  • Babies are exposed to potential health risks and toxic stress
  • Mothers are at risk for increased maternal depression
  • Parents are unable to access child care, which require a daily supply of diapers
  • Parents miss work or school without child care
Proceeds benefited Family Promise of Lincoln County. Thanks to everyone who contributed to this worthy cause.

Easter Egg Hunt

The Annual Kiwanis Easter Egg Hunt (a.k.a. the Fastest Event in Lincoln City) was held Saturday, March 30 at the Taft Community Park. The Lincoln City Kiwanis Club provided and placed Easter eggs stuffed with candy (and sometimes a surprise or two.) Kids (ages 12 and under) were invited to join in the Easter Fun!
